Are Chinese Malaysian all trouble makers? Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Lim Eng Pyn 林永彬. As a scholar, I was also very actives in my co-curriculum activities. I also joined an event organised by Chinese Language Society. This event we’ve to go to the New Village to serve the community. After the interview session, I was being selected among crème de la crème. This event was called “Down To The Countryside Movement” 知识青年. The event was for duration of one year 4th quarter of 2003 – 4 quarter of 2004. We’ve goes to the new village in Bentong, Pahang, Malaysia for one week. The sent-down youth have organised events to learn and understand the life in the village. Besides this, “Educated” youth also helped to inculcate the impotency of education. The event was officiated by Mr Liow Tiong Lai, MP of Bentong, Pahang, Malaysia and he’s from Malaysian Chinese Association. During this event, I’ve a conflict with some event mates.
