The interplay between the nation-state and the global sphere is crucial in understanding global order, as globalization and state-centric political nationalism both influence its trajectory. Analytically, world order refers to the arrangement of power and authority that provides the framework for the conduct of diplomacy and world politics on a global scale. The New International Economic Order (NIEO) is included both sovereign equality and the right of self-determination, especially when it comes to sovereignty over natural resources. Another key theme was the need for a new commodity order through international commodity agreements and a common fund for commodity price stabilization. World domination is a hypothetical power structure, either achieved or aspired to, in which a single political authority holds the power over all and/or virtually all the inhabitants of Earth. For an example, British empire has tried to achieve this goal throughout history, particularly those fearing the development of a "New World Order" involving a world government of a totalitarian nature.
